Originally constructed in 1997, the open-concept game room at Silver Maples of Chelsea was no longer meeting residents’ needs. The existing space wasn’t large enough to accommodate a billiards table, bridge tournaments, and happy hour, which required an additional folding table and pushcart. After relocating the pool table and an adjacent maintenance shop, the space was reconfigured into three distinct yet connected areas: a larger card room, a happy hour lounge, and a brand new media room. A former storage closet was opened up and turned into a permanent bar with bespoke cabinetry. Barrel-backed game chairs with punchy upholstery complement resident-selected artwork. Situated on a picturesque corner of the building with natural light, all three spaces are now packed for happy hour, with residents enjoying a cocktail along with a game of cards or a beer while watching the big game.
