We transformed the early-1900s Samuel Hannaford building in Cincinnati’s Over the Rhine district into an efficient, modern workplace environment. The loft has high ceilings, brick walls, large windows, and exposed wood beams and ductwork. The challenge was to make the space functional and attractive for office use while respecting the historic character of the building.
Efficient modern workstations were arranged around the core of the studio space, along with collaborative work tables, pin-up areas, and lounge seating. Conference rooms, a reception area, and kitchen/bar provide more formal spaces with some auditory privacy, while large glass partitions allow light to pass through from the windows on the outside. The result is a space that is open and flexible, but also organized and uncluttered.
