French Country Renovation

When new owners bought this mid-1980s house with a combination of contemporary and Asian design influences, they fell in love with the expansive valley view out the rear, but not the dated design aesthetic.

Luminaut was tasked with transforming the house to a more traditional French Country-inspired design on the exterior, while also updating the spaces inside with a reconfigured master suite, guest suite, and kitchen area. Old board and batten cedar siding was replaced with new stucco and stone, and windows were replaced to fit with the design. A screened porch with a fireplace was built on the rear to capitalize on the views and provide shade from the evening sun.

In partnership with Greiwe Interiors and Kimball Derrick, all new interior finishes and cabinetry were installed throughout. No room was left untouched, but additions to the exterior and modifications to interior walls were kept to a minimum. A reconfigured driveway and entry courtyard designed by Tracy Meade provides a much more inviting and formal entry into the house.
